The new season is almost upon us, and here are all the dates and information you need to know:
SUNDAY 13TH AUGUST - AIPL SIGN UP DAY
This event will be hosted at The Yeoman, between 12pm and 3pm. Captains or selected players will need to bring their completed registration forms (complete with all the teams players and captains details) to The Yeoman, along with the registration fee. This is to stay at £50 per team, the same as recent years.
WEDNESDAY 30TH AUGUST - FINAL CUT OFF DAY
After the sign up day, for those who can't attend, we will have an extra few days where you can sign up, but you will need to find a senior committee member to pay and give your form to. If you haven't signed up by the end of August, unfortunately you will not be able to play this season.
WEDNESDAY 13TH SEPTEMBER - CHARITY SHIELD AND CAPTAINS MEETING
The AIPL Charity Shield will take place on the 13th September, and will take place at Shoot Pool & Snooker (the new Shootpool) at 8pm. The two teams that are contesting this game are New Zealand "B", who are the reigning Premier champions, and Shoot 8-Ball, who are the AIPL Knockout Cup champions.
The charity that we will be raising money for is Young Deaf Activities, who are a charity based in High Wycombe that also do a lot of work in Stoke Mandeville Hospital. Their aim is to encourage children and young people with any level of hearing impairment or dual-sensory loss to become confident and independent in any environment, by providing activities in which these children and young people and their hearing siblings can meet and socialise. They also support hearing parents and siblings of the hearing-impaired child and to enable them to communicate effectively with their child, and also try to establish links with the local deaf community. Above all, they want the children to have fun. (http://www.yda.org.uk)
Just before the AIPL Charity Shield, at 7.15pm, we will be hosting a Captain's Meeting, where we will be giving out the Captains Packs to every team, that will include rules, competition ebntry forms, fixtures, schedule for the season, and the Blackball presentation slides from the AGM. It will also be a chance for any captain to ask any questions about the upcoming season.
WEDNESDAY 20TH SEPTEMBER - FIRST LEAGUE GAMES
The league season will begin the following week, on 20th September. The matches played that day will be available to view on this website, and will also be in your teams Captains Pack.
