Shootpool Ringers caused the big upset in Round 1 of the AIPL Knock Out Cup with a 5-4 victory over Shootpool Sharks despite only having five players whilst three time defending champions New Zealand "B" are through to the next round with a whitewash 5-0 win over Kingsbury and both Swanky and SP Blacks recover from 3-1 down to win 5-3.
There are 7 matches in the 2013 - 2014 AIPL Plate Cup 1st Round with three Shootpool teams (Shootpool G, Shootpool Sharks and SP Blacks), two Aristocrat teams (Aristocrat 'A' and Aristocrat), Watermead and Cotton Wheel 'A' all victorious and joining a fourth Shootpool team in Shootpool Reds (bye) in the Quarter-Finals draw.
