Shootpool 'A' 4-8 New Zealand "B"

Reigning Premier champions New Zealand "B" are early front runners aftwr they won 8-4 against Shootpool 'A'. The home side did take an early 1-0 lead through captain Richard Herring, but New Zealand "B" soon took control, as wins for Larry Baker, Jamie Whittaker, Doug Campbell, Stef Leone, Ade Lansdown and Keith Jones made it 6-1 to New Zealand "B" in no time. Shootpool 'A' reduced the deficit to 6-3 after wins for Chris Eley and Dave Mentiply, but second wins on the night for Jamie and Stef made sure of the win for New Zealand "B", before Richard Herring won his second late on for Shootpool 'A'.

Shootpool Sharks 8-4 The Swan

Shootpool Sharks have a share of the lead in the Premier after they also won 8-4, winning against The Swan. New signings David Feore and Gordon Sweeney put Shootpool Sharks 2-0 up, before Paul Mart pulled one back. Adam Pavey and Robin Meads then both won either side of Slavcho Boyukliev for The Swan, as Shootpool Sharks led 4-2 at the break. Second wins for David, Robin and Adam, plus a win for Steve Dutton, made sure of the win for Shootpool Sharks in the second half, though a win for David Gray and a second for Paul kept the scoreline down to just 8-4.

New Zealand 'A' 5-7 SP Blacks

SP Blacks are in third after they started their season with a 7-5 away win against New Zealand 'A'.
