SP Bullets extended their lead at the top of Division 1 with a 7-5 win against Shootpool, who drop to 7th following the defeat. Both sides took the lead at one point, however second wins from Gaz Stroud, Gary O'Connor and captain Laura Hunter were enough to get SP Bullets over the win line. The gap at the top was extended due to Shootpool Blues falling to a 7-5 defeat away to Wonky Weavers, who are up to fifth place themselves, with Richard Cairnie and Ryan Mutch the double winners on the night for the home side. That result also opened the door for The Alligators to move up to second place on frame difference after two wins each for Steve Smith and Phil Crow gave them a 7-5 win against 4th placed The Vic Club. Elsewhere, two wins each for Chris Johnston, Ben Collins and Barry Anderson helped Starshoot Troopers move up to 6th place with an 8-4 win against bottom side Charts All Over The Place. And finally, Nomads put some breathing space between themselves and the bottom two with a 9-3 home win against 9th placed Kennedy Vets, with Steve Chaloner, Mark Robinson, John Ward and Paul Knight all winning twice.

Results Week 8

SP Bullets 7-5 Shootpool

Wonky Weavers 7-5 Shootpool Blues

The Alligators 7-5 The Vic Club

Charts All Over The Place 4-8 Starshoot Troopers

Nomads 9-3 Kennedy Vets

Looking Ahead...

Week 9 is the final league week before the Christmas break, and it sees a couple of big matches take place. First up, league leaders SP Bullets will be looking to inflict a second straight defeat on Shootpool Blues when the two sides meet. Hoping for a close match, second placed The Alligators have an away trip to 6th placed Starshoot Troopers. Two sides looking to edge towards the top 3, The Vic Club and Wonky Weavers, face off this week as well, with both sides recording two wins in their last three matches. Elsewhere, there are some battles for positions at the foot of the table, as 7th hosts 8th and 9th hosts 10th, with Shootpool hosting Nomads with the sides only a point apart, and Kennedy Vets at home against Charts All Over The Place, with both sides desperate for a win.
