The Swan took a huge step towards challenging for the Premier title this week after an 11-1 demolition job of 4th placed Shootpool Sharks. Two wins each for David Gray, Luke Butler, Paul Mart and Marc Reading saw The Swan move up into a share of second place. They are now only four points behind league leaders SP Blacks, who despite going behind three times, had Martin Langley and Adam Jackow to thank as their second wins of the night secured the 7-5 win. New Zealand "B" remained in second place but closed the gap to the top by on point as they won came back from 3-1 down to win 8-4 against 5th placed Shootpool 'A', with Jamie Whittaker, Danny Amos and Brian Keeble winning twice each. Top John and The Roths shared the spoils in their battle for 7th spot, as they two sides drew 6-6. James Wood and Max Burgess won twice for Top John, as did Neil Roberts and Stuart Ladyman for The Roths. The final match saw The Brick Slayers win their first match of the season, as two wins each for Jason Hoff and Lars Bjart helped to give them an important 7-5 win against bottom side Honey Bee Stingerz.

SP Blacks 7-5 New Zealand 'A'

Looking Ahead...

Week 11 sees a huge game in the Premier, as the two teams tied for second place face off, as New Zealand "B" play host to The Swan. League leaders SP Blacks travel to face bottom side Honey Bee Stingerz, who they have already beaten 10-2 earlier this season. Shootpool Sharks will be hoping to put last week's terrible result behind them as they host 8th placed Top John, who are unbeaten in their last 3 matches themselves. Elsewhere, 5th placed Shootpool 'A' are at home against 6th placed New Zealand 'A', with the two sides on the same points tally so far, and finally, 7th placed The Roths host 9th placed The Brick Slayers, with the two sides drawing the earlier match between the two sides.
