Honey Bee Stay Unbeaten in Div 1

The only unbeaten team in Division 1, Honey Bee Stingerz, remain top of Division 1 after they edged to a 7-5 away win against Nomads, thanks to a final frame win from captain Jeremy Collins. The Vic Club moved up into second place with a 9-3 win over Wonky Ari, in a match that saw the away side win eight straight frames on the way to victory, and Shootpool are in third after a routine 8-4 home win against The Swanderers. Top John are up to fourth place after an 8-4 away win against Kennedy GC saw them move above Shootpool Blues, who were held to a 6-6 by bottom side We Love A Double.

Nomads 5-7 Honey Bee Stingerz

Honey Bee Stingerz remain top of Division 1, and kept their unbeaten start intact, after they edged to a 7-5 away win against Nomads. The first half swung both ways, as Tim White gave Honey Bee Stingerz the lead, before John Ward and Tony Ruggiero won to give Nomads the lead, only for Jeremy Collins to then equalize. Paul Knight won to put Nomads back ahead, but Nick Tilley and Alex Doyle were on hand for Honey Bee Stingerz to give them back the lead at 4-3. A second for Paul leveled the match, but wins for Gary East and Paul Seastram put Honey Bee Stingerz on the verge of victory. Kyle O'Brien winning for Nomads took the match down to the final frame, but a second on the night for Honey Bee Stingerz captain Jeremy won the match for his side.

Wonky Ari 3-9 The Vic Club

The Vic Club moved up into second place and are just a point behind the leaders after they won 9-3 against Wonky Ari. Despite Craig Haywood giving Wonky Ari the lead, The Vic Club were soon in complete control, as they eight straight frames, thanks to two wins each for Oliver Burgess and Steve Crutch, and one each from Steve Marshall, Mark Tumilty, Derek Aughton and Darren Stone. Barry Price won in response to stop the run. before a second for Steve Marshall wrapped up the 9-3, before Dominic Whittaker won the final frame for the home side.

Shootpool 8-4 The Swanderers

Shootpool are in third and three points off top after a 8-4 home win against The Swanderers. After MIke Collins gave Shootpool the lead, SWAN found themselves 2-1 up thanks to wins for James Lorimer and Daniel Nicklin. But two wins for Ben Carty and Taylor Christy, a second on the night for Mike, plus a win each for Teresa Collins and Nathan Brooks, soon had the victory wrapped up for Shootpool, before Daniel Nicklin and Robert Garrood won the final two frames in consolation.

Kennedy GC 4-8 Top John

Top John are up to fourth place after an 8-4 away win against Kennedy GC, but were 2-0 down early on when Paul McGill and Darren Collard both won for the home side. But two wins for Ben Saunders and a win each for Alex Parker, Max Burgess and captain Jordan Maxwell Hoff had Top John 5-2 up just after the break. A second for Darren pulled one back for Kennedy GC, but the win was wrapped up for Top John when a win for Evan Wakelam was added to by second wins for Alex and Max, before Russ Barrett won the final frame for Kennedy GC.

We Love A Double 6-6 Shootpool Blues

We Love A Double avoided defeat for the first time this season, as they held Shootpool Blues to a 6-6 draw. Ali Munro gave We Love A Double the lead, but Shootpool Blues were 3-1 up when Ben Bantham, Peter Mizon and John Thorne all won. Paul Court got one back for We Love A Double, Charlie Corbyn won to make Shootpool Blues had the half time lead at 4-2. But We Love A Double came out strong second half, and a second win for Ali was followed by wins for Nicola Court, Lee Salmon and Tracy Playford. But a first win of the season was taken away as second wins for John and Ben rescued the draw for Shootpool Blues.
