The Vic Club are at the top of Division 1 this week after a convincing 9-3 win against bottom side We Love A Double, which included two wins each for Darren Stone and Mark Tumilty. Honey Bee Stingerz drop to second, despite still being unbeaten, as they edged past Kennedy GC 7-5. Third placed Shootpool and fourth placed Top John played out a 6-6 draw to remain in those positions, but fifth placed Nomads closed the gap to that pair after a resounding 9-3 win against Shootpool Blues. Elsewhere, The Swanderers moved up to 7th as they staged a late comeback to win 7-5 against Wonky Ari.

The Vic Club 9-3 We Love A Double

The Vic Club moved a point clear at the top of division, after a comfortable 9-3 win against bottom side We Love A Double, who are still without a league win this season. It was a perfect first half for The Vic Club, as wins for Darren Stone, Oliver Burgess, Steve Marshall, Steve Crutch, Derek Aughton and Mark Tumilty had the home side 6-0 up, before Ali Munro won to get the away side off the mark. A second for Darren made it 7-1, before wins for Nicola Court and Paul Court made the scoreline more respectable for We Love A Double. But the 9-3 win was wrapped up when Tumilty won for the second time, and Stephen Coultas won the final frame.

Honey Bee Stingerz 7-5 Kennedy GC

Honey Bee Stingerz remain unbeaten in the league this season, but drop down to second place on points after they narrowly won 7-5 against second-bottom side Kennedy GC. Gary East gave Honey Bee Stingerz the lead, but Kennedy GC were ahead soon after thanks to wins for Darren Collard and Matty Donaldson. Jimmy Surguy then levelled the scores, before debutant Ricky Carr won to give Kennedy GC a 3-2 lead. After having to forfeit frame 6, a second for Darren gave Kennedy GC the lead again at 4-3, before Paul Seastram equalised. Ricky's second of the night made it 5-4, but late wins for Tim White and Gary East, plus an awarded frame 12, meant Honey Bee Stingerz were victorious.

Top John 6-6 Shootpool

Shootpool and Top John stay third and fourth in the league respectively, after the two sides drew 6-6. Shootpool went into a 3-0 lead early on with wins for Mike Collins, Nathan Brooks and Adam Green, but Top John were level at the break after wins for Max Burgess, Ben Saunders and Tom Howlett. Shootpool captain Teresa Collins then made it 4-3, before wins for Evan Wakelam and Alex Parker put Top John ahead for the first time at 5-4. After Daniel Kerr levelled for Shootpool, a second for Ben put Top John on brink of victory, but a second win for Mike rescued the draw for Shootpool.

Shootpool Blues 3-9 Nomads

A dominant 9-3 win for Nomads saw them overtake Shootpool Blues into 5th place in the table. Shootpool Blues made a good start, as wins for Ben Bantham and John Thorne put them 2-0 up, but wins for Kyle O'Brien, Paul Knight, Mark Robinson and Tony Ruggiero had Nomads up 4-2 at half time. Charlie Corbyn pulled one back for Shootpool Blues, but Nomads went on to the the remaining frames to claim the big win, thanks to a win for John Ward, and then second wins for Kyle, Paul and Tony. But the cherry on top of the victory was Nomads captain Steve Chaloner winning the all-important 7th point for his team with a skill shot on the black.

The Swanderers 7-5 Wonky Ari

The Swanderers are up to 7th in the table thanks to a 7-5 come back victory over 8th placed Wonky Ari. Wonky Ari led 2-0 after wins for Ocean Deasy and Jake Welsh, but The Swanderers were soon level thanks to wins for James Edney and Robert Garrood. Wins for Ash Robinson and Kyle Cairnie then made it 4-2 to Wonky Ari, but The Swanderers levelled again thanks to a win for Stuart Robertson and a second for James Edney. A second for Ash made it 5-4, but The Swanderers won the final three frames through wins for Will Hammond, Mark Rudge and James Lorimer.
