Shootpool Sharks ended the unbeaten season attempt from New Zealand "B" this week with a fantastic 8-4 win away from home. After Shootpool Sharks took a 3-0 lead early on, Paul Kanchanlall won twice in back to back frames to get New Zealand "B" back in the game, but David Feore and Steve Dutton both won twice for the Sharks, as the hosts suffered their first league defeat in 26 matches.
Second placed SP Blacks did well as they managed to win 7-5 against 4th placed The Rothschild Arms, despite only having 5 available players on the night, largely thanks to two wins each for Mike Chappell, Tye Edwards and Adam Jackow.
5th placed Shootpool 'A' came back from 3-1 down early on to secure their first win in seven league matches with an 8-4 win away to The Brickslayers, who drop down to 7th. Andy Revie and Justin Holley were the double winners on the night for Shootpool 'A', with The Brickslayers captain Jason Hoff winning twice as well.
New Zealand 'A' moved up into 6th place with a much-needed away win against 8th placed SP Bullets. The hosts started well, taking a 3-1 lead, but seven wins from 8 frames made sure of the win for New Zealand 'A', who had Tommy Gibson, Brian Lopez and Kingsley Dudley all winning twice on the night.
In a battle to stay up, 9th placed The Arigators edged past bottom side The Roths 7-5. It could have been a larger win as the away side led 6-1 at one point after Pete Kingsman's double, but The Roths fought back well, winning 4 of the last 5 to keep themselves mathematically in with a chance of safety.

Looking Ahead...
The final round of Premier fixtures sees leaders New Zealand "B" need just three frames against 9th placed The Arigators to make absolutely sure of the title, as they lead SP Blacks by 12 points, who themselves face 6th placed New Zealand 'A' knowing that they will need a huge win and a surprise for the leaders if they are to snatch the title. Shootpool Sharks are safely in third, and host 5th placed Shootpool 'A' in a final day Shoot derby. There is another venue derby as 4th placed The Rothschild Arms host bottom side The Roths. And 7th plays 8th as The Brickslayers host SP Bullets, with both sides hoping for a big win for the league leaders which would guarantee them both safety from relegation.
Most Wins has been wrapped up by Mike Chappell, with team mate Adam Jackow almost nailed on for second, but the chasing pack will all be aiming for a good end to the season to edge up the final rankings.
