Washington Weavers kept their Division 2 title hopes alive as they won 7-5 against leaders New Dairy Maid to move just nine points behind their opponents., with an all-important game in hand as well. Two wins each for Nathan McCleary and Jarrad Cross helped Washington Weavers fight back from 4-3 down to win the match and keep up the pressure in the title race.
3rd placed Dairy Maid Krazies also have a game in hand over the leaders, and are just four points further behind 2nd, as they also won this week, beating bottom side The Ari Chicks 8-4, with John Slade and Alex Slater both winning twice on the night for the hosts.
The final game of the week saw two wins each for Zenya Heap and Chris Boggon be the difference as Cotton Eyed Johns moved up to 5th place with an 8-4 win against The Feathers, who dropped down to 6th.
Week 18 Results
New Dairy Maid 5-7 Washington Weavers
Dairy Maid Krazies 8-4 The Ari Chicks
The Feathers 4-8 Cotton Eyed Johns
Looking Ahead...
It will be an important week of fixtures, as leaders New Dairy Maid have their bye week, so the chasing pair will be wanting big wins in their games in hand to close the gap or even overtake the leaders. 2nd placed Washington Weavers host bottom side The Ari Chicks, knowing that an 8-4 win will put them top of the table, and anything more gives them a gap of their own to hold on to. 3rd placed Dairy Maid Krazies would need a 12-0 away to 6th side The Feathers to overtake the leaders as well, but any decent win would close the gap dramatically. And the final game sees 4th side Misfits travel to take on 5th placed Cotton Eyed Johns.
