Shootpool Blues kept their spot at the top of the Division 1 table this week with a 10-2 win away from home against bottom side Kennedy GC, but they did not extend their lead at the top as their score was perfectly matched by 2nd placed Dirty Ari, who also won 10-2 away from home, beating Top John who drop to 5th. Elsewhere, honours were even as 3rd placed The Roths drew 6-6 with 4th side Washington Weavers, and it was also 6-6 between Wonky Shot and Dairy Maid 'A'
Kennedy GC 2-10 Shootpool Blues
Shootpool Blues remained seven points clear at the top of Division 1 table this week with a resounding 10-2 win away from home against bottom side Kennedy GC. The hosts were actually 2-1 early on, from from there on, Shootpool Blues won all the remaining frames to claim the big win, with Ben Bantham, Arron Flanagan, Frank Almeida and Peter Mizon all winning twice on the night for the league leaders.
Despite the leaders' big win, there was no lost ground for second placed Dirty Ari, who matched the result with a 10-2 win away from home, beating Top John, who drop to 5th. Two wins each for Jason Harper, Richard Edney and Paul Freshwater helped Dirty race into a 9-0 lead, before Top John got a couple of frames back, only for Kevin Smith to win his second in the final frame to wrap up the 10-2 win.
The Roths 6-6 Washington Weavers
It was all square in the match between 3rd and 4th, as The Roths drew 6-6 with Washington Weavers. The Roths took 2-0 and 3-2 leads in the first half, but the sides were level at half time. Washington Weavers took the lead for the first time at 5-4, and the next two frames were shared, but a second of the night for Neil Roberts rescued the draw for The Roths. The final match of the week also ended level, as 8th placed Wonky Shot drew 6-6 with 7th side Dairy Maid 'A'. It was Dairy Maid 'A' who started the better, leading 3-0 early on, and when Calvin Baldwin and Grant Mullender both won their second frames of the night, they led 6-2, but Wonky Shot won the final four frames to come back brilliantly to rescue the draw.

There is a huge game in Week 6 in Division 1, as the top two sides go head to head, with second placed Dirty Ari hosting current leaders Shootpool Blues, with the sides 7 points apart in the table. In the chasing pack, 3rd placed The Roths travel to 7th placed Dairy Maid 'A', and 4th placed Washington Weavers are at home against 5th placed Top John. The final match sees 6th placed Shootpool host bottom side Kennedy GC, with 8th side Wonky Shot on their bye week.
