Dirty Ari 8-4 Shootpool Blues .

The Division 1 title race heated up this week as unbeaten second placed Dirty Ari claimed a 8-4 home win against leaders Shootpool Blues, to cut the lead to the top to just one point and inflicted the leaders to their first defeat of the season. Shootpool Blues did come out fast, taking a 3-1 lead early on, but Dirty Ari came back brilliantly to win, winning six of the final seven frames, with Kevin Smith and Jason Harper both winning twice on the night for the hosts.

Dairy Maid 'A' 6-6 The Roths

3rd placed The Roths lost ground on the top two after being held to a 6-6 draw by draw specialists Dairy Maid 'A', who have incredibly now drawn four of their five matches this season. The first half finished predictably level at 3-3, with the highlight being the break and dish from Grant Mullender in the second frame. Dairy Maid 'A' had six different winners on the night, whereas The Roths had Vince King and Glenn Baxter to thank as they both won two frames each in reply.

Washington Weavers 5-7 Top John

Two wins each for Top John pair Evan Wakelam and Mark Kane helped their team claim a 7-5 away win against Washington Weavers to move up into 4th spot in the table at the expense of their opponents, who drop down into 5th place. Washington Weavers captain Jarrad Cross did manage two wins in reply, but it wasn't enough to avoid the defeat.

Shootpool 11-1 Kennedy GC

The final match of the week saw 6th placed Shootpool put some serious space between themselves and those below them with an 11-1 demolition of bottom side Kennedy GC. Ben Carty, Ben Collins, Adam Green, Mike Collins and captain Teresa Collins all won twice on a fantastic night for the hosts.

Looking Ahead...

The league takes a break next week, with the AIPL Doubles taking centre stage, but when the league returns in December, the league leaders will be looking to bounce back from their recent defeat as they host 5th placed Washington Weavers, but the pressure will be on as a buoyant second placed Dirty Ari are only one point behind, and travel to take on winless bottom side Kennedy GC. Elsewhere, third placed The Roths are on their bye week, 4th placed Top John host 7th placed draw specialists Dairy Maid 'A', and 6th placed Shootpool are up against 8th placed Wonky Shot.
