Premier

SP Blacks 9-3 SP Bullets

League leaders SP Blacks got through another potentially tough game unscathed, as they won 9-3 against 4th placed SP Bullets to keep their spot at the top of the Premier. SP Blacks won the first four frames before SP Bullets pulled a couple of frames back before half time. But second-half second wins for Troy Brett, Andy Taylor, Mike Chappell and Adam Jackow meant SP Blacks run away with the victory in the end.

New Zealand "B" 10-2 Honey Bee Stingerz

2nd placed New Zealand "B" did shave another point off SP Blacks' lead at the top as they recorded a resounding 10-2 home win over 9th placed Honey Bee Stingerz, who had captain Jeremy Collins winning twice, but New Zealand "B" wrapped up the big win as Keith Jones, Larry Baker, Doug Campbell, and Brian Keeble all won twice for the hosts.

Shootpool 'A' 6-6 Shootpool Sharks

5th placed Shootpool 'A' came back from 5-2 and 6-3 down to claim a hard-fought draw against 3rd placed Shootpool Sharks. Two wins for Gordon Sweeney helped Shootpool Sharks into a decent lead, but Shootpool 'A' fought back and rescued the draw, with six different winners on the night.

The Rothschild Arms 7-5 The Vic Club

The Rothschild Arms maintained their spot in 6th position in the table with a narrow 7-5 win against bottom side The Vic Club. Two wins each for Luke Butler and Colin Rogan helped The Rothschild Arms to the win that helped them end a run of three straight defeats.

The Brickslayers 7-5 New Zealand 'A'

Finally, The Brickslayers moved out of the bottom two with a final frame winner to win 7-5 at home against 7th placed New Zealand 'A'. The away side led 3-1 early on, but two wins for Neil Bartholomew helped The Brickslayers fight back well, and a late second win of the night for Andy Hutchinson secured the comeback victory.

Division 1

Dirty Ari 8-4 Top John

League leaders Dirty Ari continued their dominant march towards the Divison 1 title this week, after an 8-4 home win over 5th placed Top John meant they opened up a 14 point lead over their nearest challengers, and still have an all-important game in hand as well. There was two wins each for Paul Freshwater and current top stats player Kevin Smith for the hosts, as well as for Max Burgess in reply for Top John.

Shootpool Blues 6-6 Kennedy GC

Shootpool Blues lost more ground on the league leaders after they were held to a 6-6 draw by Kennedy GC, who move off the bottom of the table with the points. Kennedy GC stormed into a 5-0 lead early on, but Shootpool Blues won the next five to level the match. Kennedy GC went ahead again at 6-5, but a late second win on the night for Ben Bantham rescued the draw.

Dairy Maid 'A' 7-5 Wonky Shot

6th placed Dairy Maid 'A' were also victorious this week, narrowly winning 7-5 at home against 7th placed Wonky Shot, thanks to two wins each for Paul Harker and captain Kelly Byfield. Five different players won on the night for Wonky Shot, but it wasn't quite enough to avoid defeat.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Division 2

Nomads 4-8 Weavers' Beavers & Balls

The gap at the top of Division 2 is still 10 points after both top two sides had matching results this week. League leaders Weavers' Beavers & Balls won five frames in the first half on their way to an 8-4 win away from home, and had Robert Garrood, Zenya Heap and Chris Boggon all winning their second frames of the night in the second half to wrap up the win.

Hot Shots 8-4 The C Team

The 8-4 score line was matched by second placed Hot Shots, who had two awarded frames and two wins for Owen Garland to thank for their home win over 3rd placed The C Team, to get back to winning ways after two matches without a victory.

Ari Potters 4-8 Dairy Maid Krazies

Also on the 8-4 band wagon this week was Dairy Maid Krazies, who moved up into 5th placed in the table with an away victory over 4th placed Ari Potters. Dairy Maid Krazies found themselves behind three times in the first half, but came through strong in the second half thanks to double wins for Steve Williams, Rick Dawson and Peter Desmond.

After a couple of narrow defeats of late, The Feathers finally got their first win of the season with a 7-5 win over 8th placed The Ari Chicks. Rudy Whiteman, Marc Rose and Dhiren Patel all won twice as The Feathers picked up their first AIPL league victory since May 2022.
