Premier

New Zealand 'A' 4-8 SP Blacks

League leaders SP Blacks kept up their winning run in their quest for the AIPL Premier title, winning against 9th placed New Zealand 'A' 8-4. New Zealand 'A' found themselves 2-1 up early on, but SP Blacks won the next four, and 7 of the next 8, with Adam Jackow and captain Dave Green both winning twice on the night. With three games to go, SP Blacks now hold a two-point lead at the top, as the title race looks to go down to the wire.

Shootpool 'A' 3-9 New Zealand "B"

2nd placed New Zealand "B" reduced the gap to the top of the table to just two points, after they bettered the leader's result as they beat 5th placed Shootpool 'A' 9-3. New Zealand "B" won the first five frames early on to take full control of the match, before Shootpool 'A' got off the mark. In the second half, there was second wins for Keith Jones, Paul Kanchanlall and Brian Keeble as New Zealand "B" claimed the convincing win.

Shootpool Sharks 6-6 SP Bullets

There was a game of two halves as 3rd placed Shootpool Sharks drew 6-6 with 4th placed SP Bullets, as SP Bullets won the first half 5-1, but Shootpool Sharks fought back and won 5-1 in the second half to level the match up. Between the two sides, SP Bullets' Jarrad Cross and Shootpool Sharks' Joe Mcloughlin won both their games on the night.

Honey Bee Stingerz 7-5 The Rothschild Arms

Honey Bee Stingerz moved out of the bottom two with a 7-5 home win against 6th placed The Rothschild Arms, with Nick Tilley and Gary East both winning twice for the hosts. Luke Butler did win twice on reply for The Rothschild Arms, but it wasn't enough to avoid defeat.

The Vic Club 7-5 The Brickslayers

Bottom side The Vic Club got their second win of the season with a 7-5 home win against 7th placed The Brickslayers to move just 11 points from safety. Steve Crutch and Mikie Gibson both won twice for the hosts, as did Lars Bjart in reply for the visitors.

Division 1

Shootpool Blues 7-5 Dirty Ari

2nd placed Shootpool Blues helped their promotion aspirations with a decent 7-5 home win against league leaders Dirty Ari. Shootpool Blues led 5-1 and 7-2 during the match, as Charlie Corbyn and Ali Munro both won twice of the night. The victory gives Shootpool Blues a 12 point lead over the teams below them, albeit after playing more matches, but Dirty Ari still have a 10 point lead at the top of the table, and still have a game in hand too.

The Roths 6-6 Dairy Maid 'A'

The Roths remian in third place, but lost ground to those around them after being held to a 6-6 draw by 6th placed Dairy Maid 'A'. The match was very level throughout, with both halves finishing 3-3. Darren Owen won twice for The Roths, as did Dairy Maid 'A' pair Grant Mullender and Keira Fitzsimmons.

Kennedy GC 5-7 Shootpool

Shootpool kept up their own top two hopes alive with a 7-5 away win against 2nd bottom Kennedy GC. Two wins from Adam Green was the difference between the two sides on the night. Shootpool are still in fourth but have a game or two in hand over those above them, so still all to play for.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Division 2

Weavers' Beavers & Balls 7-5 The Feathers

League leaders Weavers' Beavers & Balls came back from 3-1 and 5-3 down to claim a narrow 7-5 against 8th placed The Feathers, to extend their lead at the top of the table to 14 points, thanks largely to two wins each for Laura Hunter and captain Jay Smith.

Hot Shots 5-7 Ari Potters

2nd placed Hot Shots lost ground in the title race after falling to a 7-5 defeat at home against a makeshift Ari Potters side. Fielding four new players, Ari Potters came back from 3-0 down early to claim the surprise victory, with regular Sam Arnold winning twice on the night for the visitors, as they moved up into 3rd place, their highest position this season.

The C Team 5-7 Misfits

The C Team dropped out of the top three for the first time this season after they were beaten 7-5 by 7th placed Misfits, who proved it's a squad game, as seven different players registered a win on the night, including debut wins for new signings Antony Lane and Dhanesh Ramdoyal.

Dairy Maid Krazies 5-7 Nomads

Finally, Nomads moved up into 5th place in the table with a 7-5 over Dairy Maid Krazies, who drop to 6th. Two wins for Rick Dawson had put Dairy Maid Krazies into a 5-4 lead, but Nomads won the last three to claim the narrow win, with Pete Slaymaker winning his second of the night in the final frame to secure the victory.

Looking Ahead...

The Premier title race takes centre stage yet again, as top plays bottom with SP Blacks hosts The Vic Club, while 2nd placed New Zealand "B" host 3rd placed Shootpool Sharks in a massive game. Over in Division 1, leaders Dirty Ari host second bottom Kennedy GC in a massive match at both ends of the table, while 3rd placed Shootpool will be looking to take advantage of 2nd placed Shootpool Blues' bye week as well. In Division 2, leaders Weavers' Beavers & Balls are on their bye week, so a good chance for the chasing pack to close the gap if they get wins this week.
