Honey Bee Stingerz 2-10 SP Blacks
SP Blacks now sit 4 points clear at the top of the Premier with just one game to go, after a resounding 10-2 away win against 9th placed Honey Bee Stingerz. Two wins for Andy Taylor helped the league leaders storm into a 7-0 lead before they lost a couple of frames, but second wins for Troy Brett and Peter Ward made sure of the big win.
New Zealand "B" 7-5 The Rothschild Arms
2nd placed New Zealand "B" would have wanted to match or better the SP Blacks result, but struggled to a 7-5 win over 6th placed The Rothschild Arms. New Zealand "B" took the lead four times, but each time, The Rothschild Arms won the following frames to level the match. From 4-4, New Zealand "B" won the next two, including a second on the night for Doug Campbell, but a second for George Langley kept the visitors in the match. But a second win for Brian Keeble in the final frame handed the win to New Zealand "B". Also in the match, there was two wins for the Premier Most Wins winner Keith Jones.
Shootpool Sharks 8-4 New Zealand 'A'
3rd placed Shootpool Sharks were 8-4 winners at home against 8th placed New Zealand 'A'. The visitors took the first frame, but Shootpool Sharks won the next six, including two wins for Martin Langley. New Zealand 'A' did win a few frames towards the end, but second wins for Chris Mottau and Joe Mcloughlin made sure of the victory.
Bottom side The Vic Club won their second match in three with an impressive 7-5 home win over 4th placed SP Bullets. There was two wins each for The Vic Club pair Oliver Burgess and Darren Stone, and for SP Bullets duo Ryan Englefield and Sonnie O'Sullivan. Trailing 4-3, The Vic Club won four of the final five frames to claim the win.
Shootpool 'A' 7-5 The Brickslayers
Shootpool 'A' moved back into 5th place in the table with a 7-5 home win against 7th placed The Brickslayers. The visitors led 3-1 early on, but two wins for Justin Hooley helped Shootpool 'A' win the next five to lead 6-3. Second wins for Jason Hoff and Steve Curran reduced the deficit, but Chris Eley's second of the night got the hosts over the line.

Shootpool Blues 7-5 Dairy Maid 'A'
2nd placed Shootpool Blues ended their season on a high, winning their final match of the season 7-5 against 6th placed Dairy Maid 'A'. Shootpool Blues were in control for most of the match, taking 4-1 and 6-2 leads on their way to the victory. There was also two wins on the night for Shootpool Blues pair Charlie Corbyn and Ali Munro.
3rd placed Shootpool were the only team mathematically able to catch leaders Dirty Ari, but were held to a 6-6 draw with 4th side The Roths. Both sides led early on, before Shootpool moved into a 5-3 lead. Second wins on the night for Glenn Baxter and Rory Sore then flipped the game as The Roths led 6-5, but Ben Collins won his second of the match in the final frame to secure the draw.
The final match saw 7th placed Wonky Shot beat 8th placed Kennedy GC 5-7 to ensure that they finish outside the bottom two this season, thanks to two wins for Barry Price. There was also two wins in reply for Kennedy GC's Gerry Murphy, but it wasn't enough to affect the overall result.

Weavers' Beavers & Balls 7-5 Misfits
Weavers' Beavers & Balls wrapped up the Division 2 title this week with a 7-5 home win against Misfits, who moved up to 6th. Early on, Weavers' Beavers & Balls won the first five frames to take a commanding lead. Misifts then fought back well, winning four of the next five, before a second win of the night for Zenya Heap made sure of the victory for the hosts.
2nd placed Hot Shots ended their season on a high with an 8-4 home win over 8th placed The Feathers. After the first half finished level at 3-3, Owen Garland and Nicola Court both won their second frames of the match as Hot SHots won five of the final six frames to win the match.
3rd placed Ari Potters kept up their hopes of a top two finish, but will now need a big win next week, after they won 7-5 against 5th placed Nomads. After trailing 2-0, Ari Potters, led 3-2 and 4-3, but both times, Nomads levelled the match up. From 4-4, Ari Potters won the next three to claim the win, including a second win for Nathan Davis, before Nomads' Chris Ball won his second of the night in the final frame.
The final match saw The C Team move up into 4th place after they were 8-4 winners against bottom side The Ari Chicks, with Connor Langridge, Ryan Chandler and Angus Kay all winning both their frames during the match.

Looking Ahead...
Next week sees the final round of matches in the league season, and there's still a lot to play for. League leaders SP Blacks need a 9-3 against 5th placed Shootpool 'A' to claim the title, and 2nd placed New Zealand "B" will be looking for a big win as they travel to 7th side The Brickslayers to try and close the gap. Elsewhere, The Vic Club will avoid bottom spot with a 10-2 win against 8th side New Zealand 'A'.
In Division 1, champions Dirty Ari travel to 6th Dairy Maid 'A' in a big match as far as Most Wins is concerned, with the top 4 players all involved in the match. 3rd placed Shootpool will claim 2nd spot if they can secure a win against 5th placed Top John.
And in Division 2, 3rd placed Ari Potters can nab 2nd spot if they manage a 10-2 win against The Feathers, and it's top vs bottom as champions Weavers' Beavers & Balls travel to The Ari Chicks.

The 2022-23 Premier went all the way - coming down to the final ball in the final frame, and it was SP Blacks who were eventually crowned champions for the second time in their history. Sharks and Bullets both signed off for the season with wins too, and New Zealand 'A' moved into 7th with their final day victory as well.

The Division 1 title race was over a while ago, but Dirty Ari continued their impressive form, winning their final match of the season 11-1 to claim the Division 1 title by a massive 22 points. Also in the final game week, Shootpool got the win they required to claim second spot ahead of Shootpool Blues, and 4th placed The Roths ended their season a high with a win as well..

Weavers' Beavers & Balls were crowned AIPL Division 2 champions of 2022-23, winning their final game to win the title by 18 points over Hot Shots, who finished 2nd, and Ari Potters in 3rd. Nomads replaced The C Team in 4th spot on the final day. Misfits in 6th and Dairy Maid Krazies in 7th played out a draw, and The Feathers finished ahead of The Ari Chicks at the bottom of the table.

In the penultimate week of the league season, Blacks took a big step towards the title with a 10-2 win, moving 4 points clear of NZB, who only won 7-5, with Sharks, Shoot A and The Vic all picking up wins on the night too. Dirty Ari wrapped up Division 1 without even playing, as Shootpool and Roths drew 6-6. Shootpool Blues, and Wonky Shot both won their matches too. Weavers won 7-5 to claim the Div 2 title, with the next three sides, Hot Shots, Ari Potters and C Team all claiming wins too..

Blacks and NZB are now just a point apart in the Premier title race, after NZB beat Sharks 9-3 and Blacks won 8-4 against The Vic Club. Bullets drew with NZA and there were wins for Rothschild Arms and Brickslayers. In Div 1, Dirty Ari are now 21 clear and only have to turn up to the final match to mathematically win the league, with Shootpool and Top John also securing wins. In Div 2, Weavers are on the verge of the title after another win, and Ari Potters Nomads and Misfits also picked up wins.

In the Premier, NZB won 9-3 while Blacks won 8-4 to reduce the gap between the top two to just 2 points, with 3 matches left to play. Sharks and Bullets drew 6-6, and there was wins for The Vic and Honey Bee too. In Division 1, Blues took a step towards a top 2 finish by beating leaders Dirty Ari 7-5, while Shootpool beat Kennedy, and Roths and Dairy Maid drew. In Div 2, Ari Potters, Misfits, Nomads and leaders Weavers all enjoyed 7-5 wins, as Weavers extended their lead at the top to 14 points.

SP Blacks’ lead at the top of the Premier is down to 3 after they won 9-3 vs Bullets, while NZB won 10-2 vs Honey Bee. Sharks and Shoot A drew, and 7-5 wins for Rothschild Arms and Brickslayers. In Division 1, Dirty Ari won 8-4 vs Top John to move 14 points clear with a game in hand. 2nd placed SP Blues were held to a 6-6 draw by Kennedy GC, and Dairy Maid picked up a win too. And in Div 2, there was 8-4 wins for the top two and the Krazies, and Feathers picked up their first win of the season.

In the Premier, Blacks beat Sharks 8-4 in the big game, while NZB closed gap at the top to just 4 points with a 9-3 win. There was also wins for Bullets, Shoot A and NZA. In Division 1, Dirty Ari got an 8-4 win to extend their lead to 11pts with a game in hand, as everyone else either drew 6-6 or didn't play. And there was a shock in Division 2 as leaders Weavers' Beavers & Balls were beaten for only the 2nd time, but Hot Shots only draw as well. Nomads and Misfits also recorded wins too.

Three Premier teams made it through to the KO Cup SF's this week as Sharks, Blacks and New Zealand A all got through close matches, with one Div 1 team guaranteed qualification in next week's game between Dirty Ari and Shootpool. In the Plate QF's, Premier sides Honey Bee and Bullets made it through, and will be accompanied by Division 1 sides Top John and Blues in the SF draw.

The top three in the Premier all won big this week, to keep the title race ticking along nicely, and there was also wins for SP Bullets and The Vic Club. In Division 1, Dirty Ari extended their lead as their win was coupled with 2nd placed Shootpool Blues losing to 3rd placed The Roths, with Top John winning also. In Division 2, Weavers Beavers Balls won the top of the table clash vs Hot Shots, with Ari Potters and Misfits also picking up wins.

SP Blacks go 5 clear by beating Rothschild Arms, but chasing pair NZB and Sharks picked up wins too, and Shoot A and Honey Bee moved up the table with much-needed wins. Division 1 title race blew open after Dirty Ari lost against Shootpool, while Blues and Roths both won this week, and JFK got their first league win by beating Dairy Maid A. In Division 2, Weavers beat Krazies but saw their lead cut to 6 as Hot Shots swept aside Ari Chicks. Misfits beat Ari Potters and C Team were awarded a 9-0.
