The Big Twanks 6-2 Shoot To Thrill

The Big Twanks became three-time champions of the Summer League Shield with a 6-2 win over venue rivals Shoot To Thrill. This triumph follows victories in both the 2017 and 2019 Summer League editions under the name of Shootpool Blues, so congratulations to The Big Twanks.

The Big Twanks captain for the evening Ben Bantham went up first and won to give his side the 1-0 lead early on, before a win for John Massingham levelled the match up for Shoot To Thrill.

Back to back frame wins for Ali Munro and Ryan May then extended The Big Twanks lead to 3-1, before a win for Paul Seastram kept Shoot To Thrill in the match at 3-2.

Arron Flanagan then won his frame to give The Big Twanks a 4-2 lead after the first six, needing just two more frames to wrap up the title.

Ryan May went up first for The Big Twanks in the second half, and won for the second time in the Final to put them just one frame from victory, and Frank Almeida had the honours of potting the match-winning black in the next frame to give The Big Twanks the 6-2 victory.

Shoot To Thrill's John Massingham won the individual stats in the Shield, with 7 wins and only 1 defeat across the three rounds. He was one win ahead of team mate Paul Seastram, and The Big Twanks' Ali Munro. The Big Twanks captain Peter Mizon finished 4th on 5-0, despite being unavailable for the Final itself, and Ben Bantham rounded out the top 5 with stats of 5-1.
