The C Team 3-9 Misfits

Misfits got their season off to a flying start, winning 9-3 against The C Team, the team that finished a point and a place above them last season. The first half was a close affair, with the sides both winning three frames each, but Misfits turned it on in the second half, winning all six frames to claim the big opening-day victory. The run in the second half also included second wins on the night for Jon Lumley, Alan Carter and captain Tony Festa.

Bees Knees 3-9 The Feathers

The Feathers also picked up an opening day away victory, winning 9-3 against league debutants Bees Knees. The Feathers raced into a 4-0 lead early on, before Bees Knees pulled a couple of frames back before half-time. Second wins on the night for Dhiren Patel and Jordan Johnson helped The Feathers win the next five frames to make sure of the victory, before Bees Knees won the final frame.

Vic 8-Ball 8-4 The Partridge

Vic 8-Ball are in third place in the table after they opened up with an 8-4 home win against league newcomers The Partridge. Vic 8-Ball won both halves 4-2, with Paul Knight, Mark Robinson, Pete Slaymaker and Tony Ruggiero Snr all winning both of their frames on the night. Oliver Bamforth won twice in reply for The Partridge too.

The Ari Chicks 5-7 Shoot 'Em Up

The third of the league newcomers, Shoot 'Em Up, were victorious in their opening match, winning 7-5 against The Ari Chicks. The first half saw Shoot 'Em Up go 1-0 and 3-1 up, but the half finished level at 3-3. Shoot 'Em Up then won the next four frames on the bounce to claim the win, largely thanks to second wins on the night for Kelly Challis, Mike Hurst and Jack Stewart, before second wins for Nel Hoff and Gary Batey kept the defeat down to a minimum for The Ari Chicks.

The Renegades 6-6 Dairy Maid Krazies

The final match of the week saw another league newcomer, The Renegades draw 6-6 with last season's 7th placed side Dairy Maid Krazies. The Renegades went 5-3 when Antony Lane won his second match of the evening, but Dairy Maid Krazies then won the next three frames to lead 6-5, a run that included a second of the night for Steve Williams, but Robbie Culleton was on hand to rescue the draw for The Renegades when he won his second frame of the match.

Looking Ahead...

Two teams who both won their opening week fixture face off, as The Feathers host Shoot 'Em Up. Other winners from Week 1 sees Misfits travel to The Ari Chicks, and Vic 8-Ball hosting Bees Knees. Elsewhere, there will be four teams looking for their first wins, as The C Team host Dairy Maid Krazies, and The Renegades host The Partridge.
