Wonky Newy 2-10 The Roths

With the league leaders Shootpool Blues on their bye week, it gave The Roths the chance to move up into top spot, which is exactly what they did, as they were impressive 10-2 winners away from home against Wonky Newy, who drop to 7th with the defeat. A run of seven frames, which started and ended with a win for Glenn Baxter, saw The Roths fly into a 7-0 lead, before Wonky Newy got off the mark. Second wins for Vince King, Matt Gibson and captain Stuart Ladyman saw The Roths lead extend to 10-1, before the hosts won the final frame.

Top John 8-4 Dairy Maid 'A'

Top John moved up to 3rd placed in the table with a decent 8-4 home win over now-6th placed Dairy Maid 'A'. The hosts won the first three frames on the way to leading 4-2 at the half-time break, and secured the win after winning the second half by the same margin, which included second wins of the match for the trio of Mark Kane, Danny Corcoran and Max Burgess.

The Vic Club 3-9 Ari Potters

Ari Potters put some more space between themselves and the bottom of the table, with an outstanding 9-3 away win against The Vic Club, who fall to 4th place in the table due to the defeat. Despite the difference in league position, two wins from Nathan Davis helped Ari Potters win the majority of the early frames to take an impressive 6-1 lead, before The Vic Club pulled a couple of frames back. But second wins for the trio of Tony Friston, Sam Arnold and captain Vicky Friston helped Ari Potters claim the big win.

Weavers' Beavers & Balls 3-9 Hot Shots

The final match of the week saw Hot Shots move up into 5th place after they won 9-3 against winless 9th placed side Weavers' Beavers & Balls. Hot Shots won the first three frames, and also eight of the first nine, to completely control the match throughout, and had two wins each for Stephen Coultas, Owen Garland, Ed McBrearty to thank for the big win.

Looking Ahead...

The Knock Out Cup and Plate Cup take centre stage next week with the Last 16, but the league returns the week after, new league leaders The Roths will be hoping to keep hold of top spot as they make the trip to bottom side Weavers' Beavers & Balls, while former leaders take their 100% record away to 4th placed The Vic Club. Elsewhere, 3rd placed Top John host 8th placed Ari Potters, and 6th placed Dairy Maid 'A' travel to 7th placed Wonky Newy with the sides only two points apart in the table.
